I used to be an occasional cutter. Occasional wrist banger.
Now, I've found a way to hurt myself and it be 'socially acceptable' I just yesterday got a bellybutton piercing, and I've been pressing on it. I wished it hurt more getting it. I wished it hurt like my industrial. Maybe I'm just kinky and like pain. I used to get stoned and bang my arm on door frames. Because the pain radiated all through out you when you where high. I miss those times |

that's actually something a tattoo artist told me when i was getting my first. he had noticed the cuts on my stomach around where i was getting it done, and he talked about how it's a socially acceptable self-harm release, getting body mods. only instead of creating scars and relics of pain, you can create art.
shame that cutting is free and tattoos/piercings aren't. i'm sure getting my nipples redone would curb my pain needs for a month. ![]() |

I'm trying to overcome an addiction to hurting myself in order to get relief. The trouble is, what was enough before becomes not enough and I ended up doing more and more harm.

It's like some weird enjoyment of being in a little pain. It why I'm getting many piercings and tattoos actually.

I have a very low pain tolerance. Therefore when I cut, even though I don't go deep enough to draw a lot of blood it still hurts like hell. That being said.. i havent cut for 2 months. Yay me.

I kind of like the sensation of getting a tattoo aswell, I find the pain pleasurable.
