i dont really care... just find it peculiar... is it just broken blood vessels?

i just need more relief... and there is no one i can trust enough to hold me tight enough to keep a blade from my hand...

Purple sounds like bruising to me, hard to say though. I do it more than once, but at the same place to minimise scar area... although I wouldn't say doing it at all is 'normal'.. keep an eye on the purple though, especially if its different to normal, could be a sign of a weird infection starting maybe?

I get purple in my scars quite a bit. Never really thought anything of it tbh.

And your second question, how much I cut seems to change every time I do it, depending on whether it meets my needs at the time or not. Sometimes once is enough, sometimes I have to do it a lot.

My scars are kinda purpleish redish brownish. I wouldn't worry to much about the color unless it's infected. And I usually only cut once when I do it, but it's fairly deep. I hope you can start feeling better and find healthier ways of coping.

If you're cutting the same area over and over, purplish color is normal. But it's better to...ahem...not cut. I speak from experience, as a cutter, so no judgment. Please try your coping skills first.
