*possible trigger

I have been seeing a therapist who knows about my self harm. After a bad episode with PTSD-related symptoms, she asked me if I had been self harming. I told her I had, and she asked what I used and where I SHed.

I have never had a T ask me that before. My past Ts just asked me if I'd been SHing and left it at that. I guess I am just curious why it would matter to know what and where?

My guess would be so that the T can get an idea of how big of a risk factor it is... certain tools (the what) cause more damage and we can accidentally do things we are not intending. Also, certain places, like arms, have a lot of veins and such that make that area riskier.

That would be my guess.
