When I try and find help I mostly see "If you want to express emotion/ feel something/ express anger" but.. I just like the texture of fresh/ day old cuts.. I cannot just draw a red line on my body and feel it, because it has no texture.. I just love how the texture feels to the touch. I hate the pain, sometimes I hate the blood (if I am really bad I enjoy seeing the blood), I hate how it looks, I don't do it to feel something, I actually feel a lot, if I am anger I express my anger in exercise.. so what do I do to actually stop. And it almost never leaves scars, I just do it on top, 80% of the times I don't even draw blood, or I draw like a dot from it.. help?

It is hard for those who don't cut to understand those of us who do. Still, if you can take small steps it would be better to stop before something bad happens. We are here if you need us.

I think self-injury is something that is hard to truly understand if you don't personally struggle with it.

I struggle with SI urges on occasion and what helps me most is to stay busy doing something else. Sometimes I'll talk to my partner about how I'm experiencing urges to self-injure and just doing that helps me. Do you have somebody in your life that you could talk to when you feel like harming yourself? Perhaps it would also be helpful to write a list of different activities that you can do when these urges come up. You mentioned exercise which is fantastic, I enjoy doing that as well.
