I've had sarah lee ever since she was a kitten 14yrs ago and now that she's passed away I can barely function. It's like losing a child for me since I have no kids of my own my pets are my kids. It hurts so much I needed to feel something other than the feeling of loss so I ended up cuttng my legs, stomach & private area. I don't know if I will ever stop cutting it's been there for me when I needed comfort or pressure released. I know that by cutting I won't bring back sarah lee but it did make me fill better. Now I must hide the marks from my hubby so he doesn't find out and send me to the hospital. Good bye dear sarah lee I'll meet you on the other side some day.

Hi Lin-Lin,

I'm so sorry to hear about your special kitty. I have had special kitties, too, and it's a terrible loss when they pass on. It can hurt very badly. Have you thought about seeing a counselor to deal with the grief? There are also support groups for people who have lost pets - try checking with your local Humane Society. They might know of a group in your area, or they might offer one. That can help a lot. Knowing other people who have lost pets, too, who know what it is like, and who can help support you through this hard time, might really help.

Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Take care,
ErinBear

{{{{{{{{{{{{{Lin-Lin}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} I am so sorry about your kitty. I miss my magical Foo so much and he passed away 4 years ago. He would let me rest my head on his stomach when I had a headache and the pain would go away. I had lots of headaches back then because of all the repressed emotion. I know how important our kitties can be. Have you done a special ceremony for Sarah Lee? We have funerals when our people love ones die but often we forget to give our pets the same treatment because so many people poo poo the importance of the love they give us. I still burn a candle for Foo when I find myself missing him alot.

I'm so sorry about your kitty. I have a huge weakness for animals and I hate it when people don't realize that losing a pet is exactly like losing a family member. Are you in therapy? If you aren't, you really should talk to someone about your cutting and I think you should be honest to your husband. That is one of the core values of marriage, after all.

i am so sorry. soon the dark clouds will lift and you will see you can function without her. why dont you go to a pet service where you can adopt a needy animal? you'll be saving a life and im sure it will bring joy to yours. take care and remember, things will get better. cutting is not the answer.
