i don't know much about self injury--but i have a habit of digging hairs from beneath my skin with a tweezer usually but sometimes i take a tiny needle to lift the top layer of skin and i get tiny marks all over my legs... it doesn't hurt and i don't want to hurt myself either- is there a connection between my habit and intentional injury?

i wouldn't think so, if it's not causing you pain and you're not doing it in an effort to injure yourself. that's my take on it.
comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable

Are these ingrown hairs you are talking about or are you digging the hair out of the folicles? If it is ingrown hairs then of course you have to get them out or they fester.

Marst,
You almost sound like your actions are a form of OCD. If you are not hurting yourself but just feel this need to "do it" then it is probably some form of OCD. If it really bothers you then by all means see a doctor. From a girl's perspective...those cloth round sponges they have with the string out the top. They often come with bath gels. Those sponges exfoliate skin and help get rid of those ingrown hairs. If they really bothers you use those instead of the tweezers. Jessica You are in this snowglobe. It is encovered in glass and secure. But one day someone comes and shakes the globe and the pieces go flying everywhere. Now they will eventually settle but they won't be the way they were before and they can never be that way again.
