Been many years since my last .....

Problem is, now I have suicidal feelings much of the time yet know I will not do it for reasons I cannot get into - so that is a very futile feeling. .. which leaves me thinking sh sounds very reasonable alternative..

HUGS Crypts_Of_The_Mind. I get that. For me, SH is an alternative to feeling suicidal. I've also gone to the hospital for suicidal feelings, and talked to a therapist. Try and hang in there. HUGS Kit

Yes I used to do those things as well. Been out of the system and doing well for a coupke years now. Prior to that was in n out of hosp more times than I can count - 8 times for an attempt, but others for thoughts or SI as well. Had a counselor for 15yrs. SI was the same for me - but it was also an expression of the reason for my pain bc of the type of SI it was n I was not able to get anyone to listen - so I made them see instead.

Right now I am financially strapped so cannot get a counselor. That means even if I went to hosp, there would be no after care. So .. not sure how to handle things atm.

Oh, that sucks. Do you by chance have a community mental health center by you? It's not free, but it's really inexpensive, at least in CA. There's always hotlines, which are sort of hit and miss, and the Samaritans who will email back and forth with you a bit. And of course there's PC. You can write here. I'm listening. HUGS Kit

Just in case: National Suicide Prevention Hotline: 1-800-273-8255
TBH: I've had fifty-fifty experiences with them. HUGS....Kit

Yes but before you go they schedule outpatient - n since I have no $ for outpatient that would be a moot point. Also, I do not want pharmaceutical meds. Natural is ok. Not pharmaceutical. Been on pretty much all of them at one time or another n they cause side effects but dont help

I'm sorry meds haven't been helpful for you. I've been on meds for a long time and they work for a while and then they stop working. Most of the side effects have been tolerable for me, or else, I quit taking that med pretty fast. My Anti-Psychotic caused a lot of weight gain though which I am slowly working off by walking. That was a sucky side effect. I haven't been too lucky with the natural stuff. Hopefully you find something that works well for you. HUGS Kit
