How do you know when you should go to the hospital for stitches?

If you have to ask, I think you should go. Let the medical professionals at the hospital determine whether or not stitches are needed. Sometimes butterfly closures can be an appropriate alternative. But you also have to think about the possibility of infection or such things as tetanus. If you haven't had a tetanus shot within the past year that's probably something you should get as well. Please take care...

If you aren't sure, then err on the side of caution and go to the hospital and let them decide. They are the professionals. Hope you are okay. HUGS Kit
