Ok so I'm really nervous about letting you all see what I've been working on (yikes!) but nonetheless, here it is! It's still in construction and there will be new things added. One thing I'm going to add to my si pages is a page about how to choose a good T, for instance.

Anyway, I would love to hear your input!! (Both about content and about formatting of the pages). And you can see your comments in there as well (kinda meshed together into common themes). Feel free to offer advice on what you would change or add or take out if you were me!!! There's not much to either site yet. I'm just a beginner. The unveiling...my webpage But, I'm excited to share!

Nice for a first attempt! :-) But some words of wisdom from a veteran designer: Too much animation is overwhelming. Multiple colors on one page get hard to read -- people start focusing on the colors more than on the content of what the colors say.

Not that mine is any great wonderful thing, but for a contrast, take a look:

I really liked your site. I found it very practical. I especially found value in the reasons not to si and the section where slip ups happen was found. I've been feeling kind of crummy because Saturday I cut for the second time in 18 months. I was doing so well, but feel like I failed now and want to cut more. I'm not going to. Your site gave me some hope. Thanks.

(I'm glad you mentioned about how to get rid of the butterflies because they drove me nuts.)

One more thing (now the I read the second post), I like the different colors separating ideas. I didn't find it distracting at all.

Angela:

I really like both the sites. I LOVE the butterflies. The poems were great and the section to Loved Ones, I think says alot. And I can see how everyone's words and comments were put together. Too cool. If you'd ever like to change things up with graphics and such, I happen to *ahem, here's my modest side* have a graphics program and can make you some. The unveiling...my webpage

Take Care,
Kimberly.

BTW: I really liked the mythology story. Any chance you'll be adding more ????

Angela, it really looks great! I'm glad that you made these webpages. Lots of good, practical, straightforward advice there.

I just remembered another thing that I feel it's important for loved ones to know. One of the things that leads to us starting SI in the first place is invalidation of our emotions (and SI helps to prove to ourselves and others that our feelings are legitimate). One of the things we fear in disclosing to someone we care about is that they might invalidate our feelings again. It's really important for them to recognize that our feelings are real, even if they disagree with us.

Thanks for all the work you have done! Are you ready for me to link to your site?

Wendy

And WAY MAJOR GOOD POINT! I will get that up there. Later, though. Now I'm going to go watch a movie and then hit the sack!

I think it's a good website, it's concise and just tells people what they want to know without having to read screens and screens of writing...i've only read the SI pages so far but i think they're very good...well done The unveiling...my webpage

One more suggestion: You have a link from your personal pages to the SI pages, but is there a link from the SI pages back to the personal pages? Besides being convenient for those of us who know about both sites to find our way back, there will also be people who find the SI pages through a search engine or something. They might be interested in your other site also.

What I liked most about it was how positive it was. It made me feel OK to be who I am and that made me feel like all warm and empowered. Like yeah I can tackle this. As I read it I thought it would be a good link to give new comers who ask for more information. It was to the point without all the millions of pages that say the same thing but don't actually get to the meat of the sitution which is how can we help ourselves and how can our love ones help us and be comfortable around us.
I thought it was wonderful.
