Well I had to see my T today. I was brave and told her about my feelings of wanting to cut after I leave her office. She has a new idea for me that I thought I might share so you guys could try it. She is loking around for a rag doll (any doll made completely of fabric). She said she will give it to me and anytime I feel the urges I can cut on the doll instead of myself. But, afterwards, I have to sew it back up to make it whole again. Reply if you think this might be helpful. I am going to give it a shot!

Wow! That's very interesting. Once I thought about getting a barbie doll and cutting on her legs instead of mine. But it seemed to me like, with as life-like as a Barbie doll looks (in terms of flesh color and stuff), I would have felt like I was actually cutting another person. I couldn't do it.

The rag doll idea is interesting, though... I like that you would ahve to sew it up afterward.

Maybe thats what your therapist is trying to teach you. To show you how hard it would be to even cut a doll.. that you should feel that kind of resistance to cutting yoruself. That is interesting, but I think its wonderful that you opennd up to her. Great job!
