I moved your post into its own thread. This way, you are more likely to get responses rather than have them lost and mixed in with replies to Angie.

One of our members here has a website about self injury that I think is an excellent resource. The Coccoon: Self Injury Pages Why don't you take a look at that, and feel free to ask any questions that you have here. We would be happy to help you and your daughter to understand and deal with this issue.

Is there a way I can mark and save that sight so I don't have to memorize it. I don't have time to check it out in depth right now.

If you go to it, you can click on "favorites" and add it to your favorites.

Also, it's my site and if you can remember that, you can find it by looking in my profile.

I was going to say you could add it to your internet favourites, but if you use a shared computer then that's maybe not something you can do.

ikj3, cutting is usually done in orfer to escape an particular feeling, or feelings that one doesn't feel comfortable with. For me, it's anger and depression mostly, but I have used it to help me sleep during manic episodes. Cutting releases chemicals in the body that act in a way like a drug. Simply put, it's an escape. Is your daughter having trouble with depression or maybe in school? Let us know. Best wishes.
