I been cutting since I was 15. I started due to a post traumatic stress thing. It just seems like a way to control my environment when everything else is spinning out of control. I don't do it every day but I tend to do it more when I'm stressed or off my medication. Does anyone feel like this?

I'm a cutter also, and my cutting got worse after I went through physical and sexual abuse. So yeah, I know how you feel. Just remember your not alone in this and there are plenty of people here on pc that can help you get through this. Best of luck!

You are not alone.

There are a lot of people like us, but not a lot of people know about it. Little research has been done on people who self-harm, and is still considered a symptom or manifestation of other disorders (rather than a disorder in itself).

Good luck to you. I hope you find all the support you need in this community. We're in this together.
