So, who else rises before the sun peeks over the horizon? Or, who has been awake all night...for whatever reason?

It was six weeks yesterday that I tore my LCL (muscle running alongside knee). It is still healing (huge knot on the side of my knee that swells when I am on my feet too long). So, no surgery (wouldn't help anyway), but doctor recommends RICE (Rest Ice Compression Exercise). Yeah, that would work if I could 'rest', but I have to be on my feet too much. At least, I am now hobbling without the crutches or cane. Actually, I hope to plant my veggie garden today (only about 6 weeks later than I had hoped) - tomatoes, corn, squash, peppers.

Finally had to succumb to hiring a lawn service to mow my front yard. I live on a steep incline, and I had the fear of falling down it with my knee in the shape that it is. So, after 38 years of mowing it myself with a push mower, I had to admit that I just couldn't anymore (with my knee in the shape that it is.) Maybe, I could just kill the grass and put in mulch on the lower part.

Anyway, those are the thoughts that have been running through my mind since 3 am.

Have a great day, everyone.

I generally don't do early mornings, maybe due to all the meds I take to conk me out at night (bipolar history). But, I'm checking in here at 5:47 p.m. to say "hi." I'm away from home, heading on vacation. I'm taking a cane and a knee brace along because I have a "bad knee" (doctor's actual words) and will eventually need a replacement.

We're hiring out more and more things as we get feebler, such as housework and yardwork. Hubby and I are both disabled and in our sixties.

If I wake up early in the morning I'll be remembering past failures or worrying about the future.

Thank you both for posting. It is now 5:30 am here, but I've been awake for a couple of hours...a bad habit from too many years of having to wake early to drive to work. "Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise." No, it doesn't!!! LOL

Not too many thoughts this morning. Maybe my brain is burnt from having all those thoughts swirling around like a whirlwind all day yesterday, or maybe they have just meshed together in a big wad and can't separate into individual thoughts. So, today is a state of confusion.

May everyone have the best day possible.

So, it is 5:50am. Tasks yesterday kept me focused on doing only what I was doing; so, my mind wasn't scattered thinking of all the things that were waiting to be done and all of the other worries that plague my mind. If only my body and energy allowed me to do more, but, alas, acceptance of getting older and more physically unable to do things that I used to do is hard. I look around and see only work. It is disheartening. I wish I had those little elves from the shoemaker who would come in and do the work for me at night. Wouldn't that be nice?

Hope everyone has the best day possible.
