I used to date a lot but only attracted abusive men. This is my pattern so I stopped for a while. I also had an abusive ex. I realized there is something wrong with my attraction to men so I am stopping dating.

I found a new hobby- coding. I hope to master it in a few years.

I am older and a little wiser. I am happier being alone.

Is anybody out there who is happy being alone? I do things for myself these days. I am so much happier than before. I am healthier since I spend time taking care of myself. I also am happier since I do things that please me. Life could not be better. Of course, if I could have had a good partner, this would have been nice. But after all of these years, I never attracted any man who was worth it. I come from an abusive family so I just was tuned into and attracted to only abusive men. But, now I realize this after a bad marriage and a string of abusive men. I don't need to be abused anymore. I love myself and my life too much to waste it on such abuse. Time heals to some extent but insight and common sense are better methods of preventing abusive situations.

Thank you for reading!

I loved being alone. But now I moved in with mum so she could stay in her house.

I have some friends who don't date and live alone. They seem happy. Although I'm married, I don't think I'd seek another mate if he passes on. I contend it's better to live alone than with an abusive person, too! I'm glad you're seeing that!

I've been alone for 10 years. I'm mostly happy with it. There are times when I'm not, but when I had a partner there were more unhappy times.

They weren't abusive, but there were other problems. The most recent one that I had a serious relationship with lied so much I finally just had to get out, something about self-respect or self-preservation.

I am still not dating. Sometimes, I have to focus on myself first. I feel great and look good- not to brag. I am truly happy now.

Pfft aren't we all?

I hang out on reddit boards... for movements for this.

WGTOW: Women going their own way. And Foreveralone. I also partake in the FemaleSeperatist boards which have some good thoughts.

It is just that I can't find a guy that is a compliment to my life and 99% of them will be a hinderance. I am sad but I accept it.

I just wish more people would accept it and join us.

I agree that for many people having a partner appears to be a big time hindrance and yet they are just so afraid to be alone.

Two of my best friends are single never married women and they have full and happy lives and in many ways are doing much better than those who bicker and complain about their husbands non stop.

I think we would do huge service to our society if we teach young girls importance of self sufficiency and independence and having careers and hobbies and friendships instead of teaching them importance of finding a man
