As far as I know most porn is legal. If its worrying you this much and making you feel paranoid I would avoid it though, atleast until you feel better about it.

As long as people are of legal age(18+) and the people are willing participants, then there is nothing illegal that I would be aware of. But I understand it must be daunting for you. If you feel comfortable mentioning the topic of the site then someone might be able to tell you whether it's of any concern (and I promise on behalf of everyone that as long as it's not child porn or abuse, we will not judge).

be very careful in doing that. I know a guy that somehow got a child porn site on his computer that he did not go to and is facing charges right now. be careful

Trishal you're most likely fine. If your site was about the legal issues of child porn, and not child porn itself, you didn't do anything illegal.
You didn't do this, but I would think that accidentally stumbling upon child porn is fairly common, giving the amount of porn in general that is on the internet. In some ways I'm surprised that a guy bebop knows got a (single) child porn site on his computer accidentally, and is now facing charges. I mean, you can even pick up things like that through spyware...and I'm sure many of us, unfortunately, have. However, very few people are actually charged for things like that (as far as I know, anyway...I am in Canada, so maybe it's different here) so it makes me think that maybe there's more to the story with Bebop's acquaintance than it seems (though I don't know for sure, of course.) It seems to me that the police/experts can probably tell the difference between a computer with an accidental infection and one that belongs to someone who actually uses child porn. Not to say that charges like that don't happen (obviously they do, as in bebop's friend's case) but it probably doesn't happen often. Regardless, though, it seems like what you found didn't even fall into THAT category. I think you probably have nothing to worry about. |
