I'm having issues with my sex drive at 36yrs. For the first few years of diagnosis, I totally lost my drive and was so uncertain of what direction I wanted to go in. I love both men and women, but most people tell me its just a fad. But, I seem to have an over-active sex drive at this point and can never get satisfied. Im a nurse, so Im always so cautious of sexual partners and protection, but its like a craving that takes over me.
My Medication use to keep it under control, I would say my drive was about normal. Now, I've been taking the medication for so long now, I dont think it even works anymore. I cant talk to friends/family about it, they dont really understand. has this happened to anyone else out there, or is it just me with an over active sex drive? I'm not sure about having bipolar, but Im sure I was never hypersexed prior.

Well, bipolar (mania anyway) can cause hyperactive sex drive.
I lost my sex drive when I started taking SSRI's and eventually had to get off them. Now my meds allow me to be myself again.
Are you in a relationship with someone? It's possible to work your sex drive into that relationship and at the same time be in a much safer position to engage in these activities (I hear you, that you are cautious anyway).

What are you currently being medicated for? I don't think that there are many meds that would cause and increased sex drive. But it may also be a phase you are going through.

Regarding liking both men and women - there are some of us that will always be like that. Some of us go through phases while we try find ourselves. Either way, I don't find anything wrong with that!
