Having issues with my sex drive. I don't think I've ever been sexually attracted to anyone to the point that I feel the need to have sex.
I have had sex. I have enjoyed it. I just never feel the need to do it and I could live my life without it.
When I do have sex it takes a very long time (hours and hours) to the point where my partner just gives up and I feel bad for not giving them the satisfaction of satisfying me.
I am in a happy relationship, and this has happened in every relationship or sexual encounter I've had.
I feel guilty because my partner gets upset about me not wanting it and etc.
I really would like to know what it is, or maybe be able to get some ideas of what might be wrong with me.

I haven't been to a T about it yet, but when I go I'll explain it to them as best as I can.

hi roseamoo
i'm no expert but unless you've been thru something bad to put you off sex, it just sounds like a low sex drive to me. but it could also be hormonal so maybe a check up with your doc too might be a good idea?
Thanks for this!

Ohhhh Okay that makes sense, it's probably past experiences then. Although they never traumatized me or anything. Thanks!

I second fish's post. Even if you decide you aren't asexual, you might find AVEN helpful to your situation.

What I noticed, and this might just be your wording, is "I don't think I've ever been sexually attracted to anyone to the point that I feel the need to have sex". Do you not experience sexual attraction at all, or do you experience it and just not really have the motivation to act on it? The former is asexuality, the latter is sex drive. I would also go so far as to ask whether what you are feeling is in fact sexual attraction or whether you are merely attracted to the look of a person without that having a sexual component- we call that aesthetic attraction.

If you are concerned and think your sex drive is an issue then there's nothing to stop you from investigating that with a doctor independently of your sexual orientation.
Thanks for this!
