Hi guys,

I thought I'd post a little about my only real mental health 'issue.' It's not common, so I thought I'd share.

I've a fetish called Microphilia, as you would imagine this means that I fantasise about being tiny. (Think, The Borrowers, Thumbelina, Alice in Wonderland, Gulliver's Travels, that sort of thing...)

Compared to a lot of fetishes I realise that this is pretty tame. Especially as it can't actually be realsed in real life. This means that it's confined 100% to the internet and my imagination.

I've had this fetish for as long as I can remember. Some of my earliest memories are of being uncomfortable watching Fern Gully or Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. Not turned on per say, just uncomfortable. It became more sexualised as I did, growing up.

I've only told two people in real life know about it, one took to it really well, saying 'It's the cutest fetish ever!' The other girl, not so much, but she had her own mental health issues that made this seem ironically minuscule in comparison.

It does cause some problems, as I often have to think of it to get an erection during sex, or to cum, although it doesn't really affect performance in general. It also sucks up a bit too much of my time on the internet, in our 'little' fetish community - where I write shrink-lit erotica. Of course, why not

I haven't ever exposed this aspect of myself to criticism on the wider web before, so be gentle, please.

Well, anybody got any questions about it? Possible causes? Fancies giving me some positive (Or negative) feedback?

It doesn't seem so bad. Mine isn't even on any lists, nor has it ever been classified, that I know of. Same as you, only two people know of mine and they aren't phased by it. It's very very specific and literally the only thing that gets me off, which is kind of sad because I have to pretend I'm having a good time with my partner when really, I'm thinking of something else. You are brave. Much braver than myself. I, too, get hella nervous if I see anything that reminds me of it. No. I stop in my tracks. I have to run and isolate myself. I try to get away without anyone noticing. It's a bonefide trigger because I freak the hell out anytime it happens. I've accepted it as part of who I am but it's still very very powerful.

Not sure where they come from. Some can be pinpointed to certain events which happened early on in life but some have no rhyme or reason. I say as long as it doesn't a) cause harm to anyone, b) impose on anyone's will and c) break any laws, then you're in the clear.

Yer, you're totally right, it's not the most damaging thing really. But I know what you mean about triggers. To be honest I simply find the word 'shrinking' jarring and don't use it in conversation, that's about it. Fortunately.

Some women have mentioned it in conversation, not knowing about my fetish before, but I've not been too uncomfortable with that.

Thumbelina is not about shrinking though. Alice in the Wonderland is and Gulliver's Travels, too, but not Thumbelina. I do not have this fetish, or any fetish for that matter, but I happen to very much relate to that scene in Alice in the Wonderland in which she is too big for the door to the garden. She sees the light coming from underneat the door and through the keyhole, but cannot make herself shrink, at that time, to enter the garden. Metaphorically, it describes a lot in my life, although not related to physical size at all, but simply because I did not realize that I had the right key for the door leading to the garden, or, did not dare to use the key. So I can relate to that part - if you want to shrink to enter that garden, then sure I can relate.

Thumbelina (no shrinking but yes miniature size) has a happy end, so living in that kind of fantasy should not be painful. Alice in the Wonderland has quite a happy end, too. So you seem to have an optimistic fetish in the end.

I find a certain word extremely stressful to hear, as well, of course, having to do with my own. I NEVER use it. I can't even say it without stammering. Trigger is something that occurs that makes a person freak out or have a flash-back or fall into an involuntary delusion or sorts. It can cause nervousness, panicky feelings, stress, etc. Most cases, the term is used in context of PTSD, but it can cover a wider range of

Welcome to PC
Make yourself at home, there are some good people here.

Sometimes I wonder about labels...I haven't quite figured out whether some "knowledge" is beneficial or harmful.
And is the need to know a "thing" in itself?

Just claim you're a grower and not a show-er and then quickly shut off the lights. That's what I do!

Webgoji - That was great last night.
Mrs. Webgoji - Dang it! I told you to tell me when we were having sex!

Well Hamster-Bamster, the fetish of Microphilia isn't just based around the actual process of shrinking itself. Although for a very small minority it is. I liked the popular culture references that I did because most people fantasise about being small and shrinking, be it fast or slow. It's all rolled into one really.

With regards to Macrophilia, or a Giantess Fetish. Yer, they are our 'big brother', erm...so to speak. It's more popular on the net and can involve cruelty, vore and feet etc. but doesn't have to, simply the giant nature of the man or the woman is usually enough.

For me though, being shrunk is just more private a fantasy. It's me being dwarfed by the world, rather me dwarfing it. A key distinction. And besides, I'd look cute in a girl's pocket.

I know what you mean about being really uncomfortable when it comes up. I get that way too. I try to act normal but it bugs me

Thank you for being brave and sharing. I feel better when I hear other people with less common fetishes. I can't share mine with anyone quite yet but maybe after I tell a few people if they have okay reactions I'll be more comfortable.

Hi There Little Comerade,

I just saw the post from a little while ago, I don't know if you are still an active user on this site but I just wanted to let you know that I have the exact same fetish as you, the only difference being that I tend to fantasize about being large (or normal sized, if you will) and the man being tiny. It started out the same way you described for me as well. I only just recently discovered that this fetish even had a name, and since then I have been able to get in touch with other people who fantasize about being small (or giant). I would love to get I contact with you if you are interested!

I have that exact same thing, but instead I'm writing a book. It seems a little stupid at the moment, but I'm working on it. If you have the same thing that I do, you might like it. ^-^
