From what I've heard, I believe I am pansexual, because I am willing to be with someone outside of the gender binary, but is that the only difference between the two? Or am I completely wrong about this. I might be slightly confused.

I'd be interested in knowing the answer to this too. I don't understand all of these different terms...

If my understanding is correct, bisexuality operates within the binary male/female gender confines, in that a bisexual is attracted to males and females. Pansexuality includes attraction for people who fall outside the gender binary.

That is at least my understanding. I'm not sure if it's 100%.

As far as I know (and I am pansexual) Harley's right. Thought often I just tell people I'm bisexual because they don't know what pansexual is and want an in-depth explanation and I'm just not okay with that when it's most likely a stranger or school friend who I'm talking to.

I do the same thing. Especially when you can just TELL they won't get it.

I also follow the "when in Rome" approach.

I know the feeling.

Sometimes I get annoyed and snarkily tell them it means I'll sleep with anyone.

You know how that goes down lol

Hankster I think you're thinking of object sexuality or objectophilia.

4. Noun: One who perceives all activities and experiences as sexual.

This is a quote from the Urban Dictionary that is more in line with my understanding of the word. I dont like to look up the word before i post because that feels like cheating to me, like in Scrabble! But i will look it up after im "challenged" not that the urban dictionary is any kind of authority! But i think this explains why both my t and i were moaning the time i brought in italian pepperoni rolls to nosh on...
