I'm almost 49, male, I don't take any medications, and I'm not in a relationship.
My libido has been declining for several years, but just in the past month or so, it seems that I have ZERO libido. I don't have erectile dysfunction, but sex suddenly seems completely pointless and unappealing. It is just so odd and unnatural to have ZERO interest. I feel lost somehow. ![]() I have been feeling tired a lot the past month too. Getting old isn't fun. *sigh* |

It'd recommend getting a physical done by your doctor to rule out a physical ailment.

LOL, I told one doctor that I wondered if my testosterone was too low, and he told me it was just fine because I had facial hair. My sister is an MD, and she thought that was funny when I told her. A general physical might be the solution, because it will force the doctors to run some tests and not just blame it all on my mood. |

And don't be afraid to seek out a second opinion if the first isn't satisfactory.

^Also, I have been having intestinal problems for the past couple of months - ever since I had what I thought was food poisoning. If I eat nuts, wheat, corn, or potatoes now, I get very upset digestion. I used to be able to eat these things in small amounts. Like I couldn't eat whole wheat flour, but I could eat more refined wheat flour like in biscuits. Now half a biscuit makes me sick.
Also I may have internal bleeding, because I noticed some blood last weekend. It's just that whenever I go to the doctor, I feel like a hypochondriac. (Probably I am LOL ) Anyway, thanks for the suggestion @SilverNeurotic ![]() |

It's possible that you just aren't interested in sex. Believe me, there are times where sex can be the furthest thing from your mind...for no real reason. If recommend getting checked out my a doctor. If they find nothing, then stopped sweating it, you may be creating your own anxiety.

I guess this is good to not care about sex. It's just that I don't know what to think about if I'm not thinking about sex. It's so strange to see a picture of a girl that I know intellectually is pretty, but I am more interested in the wallpaper hanging in the background. This reminds me of when I quit drinking. I used to drink constantly. When I stopped drinking, I felt so blank and listless. Seeing a pretty girl in an advertisement during the day used to excite me a little bit and help with depression. Now I'm just blank. I still have my cat though ![]() |

Probably I have been a sex addict most of my life, but now I have no libido. I'm being forced by my biological clock to give up an addiction that helped me cope with depression.

A sudden change is bad. I would expect your libido to drop over the years, but you said it crashed over the past few months and that sudden drop is indicative of something being wrong. Like SilverNeurotic said, a second opinion could be what's needed. Maybe prostate problems or testosterone levels or who knows? But that sudden change needs checked thoroughly.
Being listless, tired and no libido though really sounds like a testosterone issue to me. Mine is normal (for a 42 year old man), but I'm still tired and listless. I was able to afford taking Nugenix for a month and felt like a million bucks so maybe something like that will help as well for you?

Thanks, @Webgoji and @divine1966
Sorry I didn't see your replies earlier. The email notification doesn't always work. Maybe I should be happy to be losing all interest in sex. When I was younger, I used to wish I could have no interest in sex, so that I would have more time for productive pursuits. Now that I'm finally getting my wish, I feel lost. I keep thinking I should feel interested, but why should I? This reminds me of when I quit drinking. I had so much time, because I wasn't drinking, but I didn't know what to do. I would just stare at the wall and feel sorry for myself. Eventually I filled that gap in my life with other things that I value more. Maybe the same will happen with my plummeting libido ![]() It is weird how suddenly it has happened. Probably I should get a physical. I hope I will, but I have such bad luck with doctors. *sigh* |

Depression, stress and anxiety all contribute to a loss in libido. When last did you have your prostrate checked? It's a good idea to check your hormone levels, they can do it with a blood test. Also a good idea to see if an anti depressant won't increase your libido as the depression eases. Lastly there's that change of life thing, but you're a bit young for that. I'm far from that but I'm sure if women get hormone replacement therapy then I don't see why men should not. It sounds very much as if you have irritable bowel syndrome as well. Bleeding (bright red) is a cause for concern. Bring up all these points with your doctor.

X, well I agree with everyone here, go see the doc and get checked out. I also agree with your personal self assessment there, being a sex addict too, I notice rises and falls in my sex drive. Find a distraction and try not to dwell on sex for a while, let yourself be energized and rejuvenated by life. Find a hobby or something. One important thing and this is my down fall, try to stay away from porn, I have strict filters on my computer but I still get the urge. Not that getting off is bad, but if you want to change something, I think you need to stay away from things till it is fixed.
