I am not sure if this is appropriate so i will try and not go into too much detail.

There are some sexual fetishes that involve liking being hurt. Some of them are harmless while others can be dangerous. Its embarrassing to admit but I have one of these things called ball busting ( the name is self explanatory). It is very harmful and i am scared of long term damage that I may regret. I know this but i still cannot stop.

I am wondering if this is caused by mental illness. Some antidepressants I have been on in the past seemed to help reduce my craving for it. But my current Ad (wellbutrin) is making me want it all the time.

My wife agrees to take part but she also worries. I have not told my psychiatrist yet as I am not sure if it is due to depression or jut what I like.

DO you guys think this is a kind of self harm? does any one manage to solve a similar problem? if yes I would appreciate some advice

This is a part of BDSM. It may or may not be related to mental illness, but many men like yourself have the same fetish and it has nothing to do with self-harm. I would recommend FetLife, but beware it is NSFW.

Some fetishes can be dangerous, and some are questionable, most are harmless and there is nothing wrong with them. If you're seriously concerned that "ball busting" might result in permanent damage, then I'd consult a therapist that specializes in sexual health issues.

Does it matter if it comes from a mental illness? Are you saying that you'd like to explore this Bec it's a side effect from a med?

I don't think the 2 go hand in hand. IMHO.

I think fetishes are just that. A fetish.
I'm heavily involved in bdsm & have a RACK player. We explore safety issues a lot esp if it's something new. I highly recommend you do some homework so you don't cause damage to yourself. Yes FL has a ton of info to glean from so u can enjoy your play.
Much pain play is based on endorphin rushes. This might be what you're looking for. But remember with every rush comes the down side of it too.

Enjoy & be safe. So nice your partner is willing to learn & help too

Lots of fettises out there for sexual purposes. Hurting yourself while getting off is not normal. I would classify this as an mental health issue. Good luck
