Extreme shame about a fetish

Hi there, I'm a 23 year old male and lately I've been having extreme anxiety and panic attacks about a fetish that I have always had. Basically, my fetish revolves around women's panties. They turn me on more than anything and always have ever since I was a kid. When I was younger, I sometimes went through my sister, mom's, or my friends mom's underwear drawer when I was at their place alone and would sometimes masturbate with the panties. I knew it was wrong at the time to do and lately I've been feeling extremely guilty about what I've done and feel like I deserve to die. I feel like a pervert scum that doesn't deserve to live. In the past few years ive talked to a sexual therapist about the fetish and they said there's nothing wrong with having a fetish as long as it is contained. I've found online that there are women who will sell you their underwear and have managed to have this be my only outlet for the fetish if I'm particular aroused . I just can't help but feel extremely anxious about the things I did when I was younger and feel like I deserve to die. Many times it's all I can think about and have insomnia, etc worrying about how I deeply hurt other people when I was younger and don't deserve to live

You’re not hurting anyone (although that can be delicious in so many ways) and it’s a very common male fetish. I often feel shame and guilt over my fetishes, usually after I've performed them or fantasized about them. The ones I involve my mrs in I feel guilty about involving her. I feel guilt because, even though these things although enjoyable for my fiancée they don't turn her on. E.g. I have aftershocks for using rubber gloves during sex. To the best of my knowledge non of my fetishes are "illegal" my dangerous fetish involves only me and even if i did it with others would still be legal so long as it was consensual.

This sounds exactly like me . I used to feel really really ashamed at a core level about this. I think you just have to learn to deal with the fetishes in a way that is legal and safe. There is practically no way to change what turns you on because it's subconscious , the only thing you can do is find safe outlets for it

The way I deal with my fetishes is perfectly LEGAL !! There is no way I can make it conpletely safe, however I do mitigate as much risk as possible in what I wear. I gave up trying to stop having these fetishes years ago and embraced them, but that doesn't stop me having feelings of guilt about them.

I don't think there is a way to "stop" having them. You are excited by what ever arouses you in a core way that can't be changed that easily or else people could change from being homosexual to heterosexual. Therefore the best way is to just find a legal outlet for it and try to stop the guilt

I find that some guilt, shame and feeling like doing something "wrong" is actually an essential part of a fetish. After some time of my self analysis I was surprised to find out that the level of arousal has become much much lower now, when I have so openly admitted to myself that those fetishes exist and tried to track them down deep in the roots of my personality.

So, I think our subconscious is playing a dirty game here - one of major reasons of why a fetish is a fetish is the feeling of shame that we seemingly want to get rid of.

Don't be ashamed... but as soon as you stop feeling the shame (at least at the level of "being naughty") your subconscious attraction might go down noticeably... or it might not; I don't know, it might be just my personal issue.

Either way, you aren’t doing anything wrong. As long as you’re dealing with consenting adults. Which I will assume you are.

Give yourself a break. You aren’t hurting anyone. But be careful if you deal with anyone on the internet and the internet in general with fetishes.

Like with anything pleasurable, tolerance can develop, and risky, impulsive behavior can come from that. Sounds like you are very cautious and self aware though.

As long as you aren't out raiding the closets/dressers of complete strangers for women's underwear, you are perfectly fine in what you are doing.

Why not buy women's underwear for your own personal use? That way, you don't have to go around sneaking into anyone else's place for them.

How often do you actually have sex? (No need to actually answer here, just a question to consider for yourself). The fetish might become less intense if / when having long term relationship and enough intimacy with a real physical person.
