For as long as I can remember, I have had this weird fetish about women using the bathroom. More specifically, I am often aroused at the thought of an attractive woman going #2, having a bowel movement, whatever you want to call it. I think it may be because I find the act embarrassing, even repulsive, so in some way I find it hard to imagine a beautiful woman sitting on the toilet dealing with the same things that embarrass me, like farting or other embarrassing noises, having to stay on the toilet for several minutes, or any other embarrassing things that accompany the process of defecating.
I am contemplating seeking therapy for this. Is there something wrong with me? Any thoughts are appreciated. |

Hello Cerealmusic: No... there's nothing wrong with you. People develop all sorts of odd fetishes & compulsions. To my knowledge no one knows why or how it happens. It just does. If you were to read back through some of the old posts in this forum, you'd run across quite a few examples.
Current research into the workings of the human brain is telling us that much more of who we are, & what we do, is controlled by areas of our brains to which we have no conscious access than we would typically imagine. So perhaps there is something stored in some of the non-conscious areas of your brain that is causing you to have the experiences you're having. I really don't know. It's just a thought. Therapy would be a good place to try to figure out what this may be about & perhaps even put it to rest. But it is important to find a therapist you feel comfortable with. Sometimes this can take a few tries. Not every therapist works well with every client. Here are links to 4 articles, from PsychCentral's archives, on the subject of how to find a good therapist: https://psychcentral.com/find-therapist/ https://psychcentral.com/blog/10-way...ood-therapist/ https://psychcentral.com/lib/how-to-...apist-for-you/ https://psychcentral.com/find-help/ Anyway... I noticed this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral! I hope you find the time you spend here to be of benefit. __________________ "I may be older but I am not wise / I'm still a child's grown-up disguise / and I never can tell you what you want to know / You will find out as you go."
