A number of times people have suggested that I get therapy for my sexuality issues.

But I don't see the point - I'm happy, I don't want to change, and they don't hurt anyone.

What benefit could I possibly get from being 'cured' or 'changed' from what I am?

You are correct. If you don't want to change, are happy and it is not hurting anyone then it wouldn't benefit you. You would not only be wasting your time , but also the therapists time. I am being completing honest.
Thanks for this!

Seems to make sense to me.

I think the reason people want me to be changed is just that I make them uncomfortable, or that they just can't believe I'm ok with what I am.

If it isn't hurting anyone then the main thing to focus on is making yourself comfortable.
Thanks for this!

Are you feeling sexual desire and perhaps romantic feelings for not animated objects? That certainly can’t harm anyone. If you like it, then who cares. Objects most certainly don’t get harmed and likely won’t object to any of it. Who knows why people want you to change. They maybe think you aren’t content

I wonder how do they even know your preference. It’s not exactly the same as other minorities when you bring partners to meet your family.
Thanks for this!

You are who you are and it hurts nobody. I think these people are being complete jerks and nimcompoops to be this way. Do you really need them in your life?

Whatever reasons they have for suggesting you change are completely invalid.

I am guessing this is a religious thing. You are in the wrong religion then. It is THEY who need the help not you.
Thanks for this!

I think that's partly it - they can't believe I'm happy with my sexuality.
I also think there may be other stuff too - including thinking that what I do is somehow harmful to society.

I'm pretty open about myself, online and in RL, so people get to know about me and my preferences easily enough.

No, I don't think so. Just a, 'you're mental and need help' kinda thing. Some people, I guess, don't like 'weird' or 'other'.
