I think it's great that you're being proactive about improving yourself and asking your wife for help with structure and discipline. It shows a lot of self-awareness and willingness to grow. If both of you are open to trying out these methods, it might be worth experimenting to see if it works for you.

I joined online-therapy and it helped me a lot with self-discipline and personal growth. It could be a good option to explore along with your current plan.
