The other day I went to work. Maybe I was dressed more feminine than normal or something, but one of my coworkers made a comment about her wondering if I was straight. I was so upset and embarrassed!! I just couldn’t believe anyone would mistake me for being straight!

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think there is anything wrong with being straight or even two straight people living together. (As long as they don’t kiss in front of me, yuck.) I even have friends that are straight.
It just really upset me I guess that anyone would see me as that.

My point??

1. There isn’t anything wrong with being straight or gay.

2. Love is love no matter the gender.

3. Sometimes even well meaning comments can sting when the "terrible" thing they are talking about is a part of who you are.

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…………..counting the seconds until this is deleted. lmao irony

Does this person know you are gay? - maybe she thought you looked good enough to her to land a guy..... from her POV - as a straight female.

I am not gay and have been married for 22 years, but I can remember a few years back when I was given a hard time at work by a few of my female co-workers (more teasing than any thing else) because a gay female in the office liked me and kept making passes at me even though she knew I was married and liked guys....... I was not insulted at all, but rather I took it a compliment and she remained my friend.

Oh sorry Rhapsody it was a tongue in cheek example that sometimes it stings when straight people make the reverse comments.

But yeah my coworkers do know I am gay and yeah I do look good enough to land a guy as a straight female. ***Shudders at the thought*** lmao

My daughter is gay.... I love her to death and she has a great sense of humor!

It is very hard to be gay sometimes and a sense of humor, as well as irony, is almost a necessity.

Yes sometimes you need a sense of humor. I get to reading comments in different forums and it gets pretty hard to be tolerant at times. Being gay is okay it's putting up with the irrational rantings that is hard.

Your daughter is lucky. Not only to be gay but also to have such a great mom. irony
