Hi. I have always had dreams about tornadoes. Or earthquakes. But here in the past few years it's about tornadoes. just about every night I dream about tornadoes. I am always sitting in someone else's house and I don't know these people but in my dream they feel like my closest friends. And I can never leave. I try to go to shelter but I can't leave. I don't kno if in my dream I am physcally stuck or mentally stuck. but I can't leave. I also have dreams about floods. All of my nightmares revolve around natural disaters. When I was about 6 I was at my dad's and a big tornadoe hit his apartments. It was scary. We had to get in the stairwell. And you could hear the windows breaking and things hitting the building. I'll never forget the sound of the roof on the next building being torn off and slammed on our roof. Mabye thats why I have them kind of nightmares. All I know is sleep medicine don't help neither does anti anxiety medincine (I think those actually make the dreams worse) All I know is I end up waking up because of the dreams and not be able to go back to sleep because of my fear.

My very little understanding of dreams (from a couple of books) does discuss traumatic childhood events leading to recurring dreams. Seems to be the case here.
This is not so dissimilar to the thread above about apocalyptic dreams in which the individual read a great deal of information about the nuclear attacks on Japan. Also, I'm not sure, but are you still worried about tornadoes and floods? If so, the fear will become more acute and you will be more likely to dream about them.
