I can't sleep properly. I'm so tired but it can take hours to fall asleep and when I do I'm awake again two hours later. I can't remember the last time I was able to sleep through the whole night. I've tried meletonin. It doesn't help. My brain won't shut up. Everything just keeps repeating. I'm not sure how long I can go on like this. My Dr. doesn't want to give me anything to make me sleep because she says I might become dependant on it.

I'm up again, as usual. I'm getting more depressed again. I've been dealing with depression since I was a teenager. I've been on medications for over 20 yrs. nothing works. I'm not sleeping properly and it's adding to my depression.

This might sound strange but I see a holistic dr in addition my regular doctor as I believe there is a healthy balance between traditional medicine and natural medicine. As a result I/we learned that I have circadian rhythm disorder not insomnia. One of tbe holistic approaches to treating this is of course melatonin but another thing that I was told to do was to move my bednso that tbe head of the bed where my pillows are faced the northern magnetic pole. This is supposed to help my body produce more of its own melatonin. Additionally, since I have the freedom to do I sleep when my body wants to sleep which is from abojt 3 or 4 am until 11 am or noon. Its has helped me lot and I no longer take anything specifically to sleep although I do have a mood elavator/stabalizer that is very sedative that i take before bedtime I suspect helps quite a bit.
