So I've had this dream probably once every few months since I moved to a new town and a new high school, which was October of 2008.
The dream I had last night was that I was back at my old high school, with my current gym class (from the new HS), which was playing some odd game (kinda like Red Rover or something) in a grassy area behind the school. I went inside my old high school to use the bathroom, and it was different but similar because the men's and women's bathrooms were in two different hallways (which always confused me). In the women's bathroom, they were giving out cookies, which didn't strike me as odd. Then a girl I got along with (like an acquaintance, someone I talked to in class) came into the bathroom but she didn't remember me. Then I was in class with a teacher that looked exactly like an old teacher, Mrs. Liss, who was like a surrogate mother to me (I have Reactive Attachment Disorder), and she didn't know where the real teacher was, so I didn't get to see Mrs. Liss. I woke up, and all day, I've been wanting to go visit Mrs. Liss. The part of the dream that's recurrent is going back to my old high school and having it a) look different, and b) have former friends not remember me. The basic psychology behind this is obvious, but I'm not sure if there's more underneath that I'm not seeing. EDIT: for those of you who are unfamiliar with or curious about RAD... http://www.psychnet-uk.com/dsm_iv/at...t_disorder.htm

I'm guessing the obvious things you are talking about are that you are afraid everyone at your old school has just forgotten you? And you miss the woman who was so important to you and cannot find a suitable replacement for her?

Yes to the first question, I'm terrified that my old friends have forgotten me. I do miss Mrs. Liss a lot, but I don't want to replace her; she's not the kind who's common enough to be easily replacable.
