i've never really put much thought into dream interpretation. but i have a dream that keeps coming back sometimes in different ways, but the main "theme" i guess is always the same one of my teeth will fall out then ill go to spit it out of my mouth and 4 or 5 teeth will be in my hand. and then i normally swallow the rest. and it's creepy as hell cause it seems so real. i'll wake up and brush my teeth like 3 or 4 times after i have that dream.
any thoughts? ![]() |

I have dreams of my teeth falling out all of the time! They are very upsetting. I don't have interpretations for you, but just wanted to share that you aren't the only one with such a weird type dream...
I'm going to see if I can find an interpretation of tooth loss...I'll let you know what I find. Here's one interpretation: Quote:
I am very self conscious, so I can see that and I also have paralyzing social anxiety, so I can really relate to the making a fool out of yourself part. Any ideas if any of this fits you?

I have the same exact dream!! More than once too!! As far as the dream interpretation, I definately have problems expressing myself. I do need to be more assertive. Perpetuallysad, where did you find the dream interpretation?

Wow! So manny teeth falling out dreamers! I do that too. And it comes in the most bizare array of events. Sometimes they turn black and crumble. Sometimes it starts with one falling out and then the others are loose and they fall out. Sometimes they fall out but I don't know it right away! And one time a tooth fell out and I looked inside of it and it had an ancient Egyptian carving in it! LOL
What I was told by a dream master I went to see was that the dream for me was about loosing control and feeling powerless. But being a CSA survivor - that fits my entire life.... so who knows...

I remember when I had braces (I was 29-30 years old) I had a lot of weird teeth dreams. I had a "bar" across the roof of my mouth to hold the two teeth it was connected to on either side "solid" so they wouldn't move, just the other ones around them; they were the "anchors" but one night I dreamed my braces with this bit of metal half circle around the roof of my mouth were a caning jar lid! And the half circle pulled forward and my braces became disconnected from my teeth and the metal bits started spinning around their connecting wire so they were facing every which way so I couldn't get them lined up again to put it all back the way it was supposed to be! My most depressing dream though was being in the checkout line of the grocery store and realizing I'd chosen thick steaks, apples, all things I couldn't/shouldn't eat with my braces and being mortified.
I was in therapy when I had my braces and I'm sure the dreams were all related to my uncertainties and anxieties at the time. If I were to dream I'd swallowed teeth, it would immediately make me wonder what words I wished I could, or had in fact, swallowed. I don't know if you're in therapy but for me, in therapy at the time, I would have thought I had told my therapist (or someone) some information (the 5 teeth in your hand) but had "swallowed" the rest to get rid of it or because I was afraid of it, etc.

Perna, that is very interesting you've really got me thinking on this one now. see i always tell people the truth, but never the whole truth. i don't lie i just omit a lot of things. i'm not in therapy yet i have a up coming appointment though.
all i can say is wow. and thanks for your input i would have never looked at it that way. |

I've had dreams like this too.
Sometimes I can't seem to spit all of the teeth out, and I wind up swallowing some, sometimes my teeth are crumbling to pieces so it is shards that I am spitting and swallowing. ![]() |

I wake up sometimes feeling as if I 've swallowed something i shouldn't.. One night I woke up with a Kleenex stuffed in my mouth, like I was about to swallow that.
Ugh... This dream got my attention! Billi
