Hello! I'm new here, posting in this forum for the first time.
I dislike to sleep, and was wondering if anyone else does? I mean, I CAN sleep...but have insomnia and just wake up early and go to bed late and have caffeine and red bulls and just kind of go around tired all the time. Sleep is just not comforting to me...and unless I'm really tired, i have bad dreams a lot. I'd rather sleep little at night and take naps and have caffeine. I'm not sure why this is and think it's kind of weird and maybe related to just be being mental or something. But sleep just always seems scary or unpleasant or like something to avoid. Just wondering if anyone else is anti-sleep, and if they are okay with it or know why they dont like sleep...? ![]() |

I do not like to sleep at night. It is quiet and cozy and dark. The day is bright and noisey, but I must sleep at night. I am fighting my sleep meds now.

I'm so happy to see that someone out there feels the same way I do! For some reason, I feel like if I sleep I'll miss something. When I do sleep, I often wake up in the night drenched in sweat with my covers strewn all over the place. I sleep because I have to, but there are so many nights when I just lie there, thinking about all the things I could be doing but am not because I'm in bed.

When i am in manic phase, or there is a lot going in my life, I don't like to sleep. I claim that "I can sleep when I am dead" and feel like it is a waste of time. I still secretly hope science will figure out how can we survive without food and sleep (because both are such waste of time).
but sometimes... I wish I was a cat and could sleep the whole day. It really depends. |

that was a great article about sleep deprivation and sleep debt. i know that i am constantly living in the red zone of sleep. i will never be in the black, because i can never sustain a lifestyle pattern for long enough to have a rythm. my days are constantly changing. i'm sure it is one of the reasons i've never been able to get a handle on my illness.
