I was living at my mom's place and it wasn't really a real place, just one of those dreamscapes that was like a house that was a mix of a whole bunch of places we lived. And the guy wanted to get all touchy feely with me and I said "you can't treat me like this because I'm 10, I'm not a little kid anymore." So he got mad and stormed out.

It sort of goes hand in hand with the feeling that I've been having the past few days that I shouldn't have lived this long. That I don't belong here.

Kaika, where do you get the "shouldn't have lived this long" thing? You haven't lived very long at all, especially at age "10" so you can't really say that until you get to be an old woman of 90 :-)

I've been reading a really great dream book, Dream Thinking, by Alex T. Quenk and Naomi L. Quenk, http://www.human-nature.com/odmh/dreamsb.html it's old (I've decided to read all the books in my house and either "keep" them or be finished with them and give them away before I buy new ones) and it has a couple of ways to go about looking at dreams.

The first way would point out that your dream takes place in your past and doesn't really have anything/anyone from your real life so is about an "enduring" issue. This is an old tried and true thing you're working with, is subjective (about your relationship to yourself rather than your relationship to the outer world, outer world would have a definite "real" situation and be "sharper" not vague like your dream). The next thing they talk about is whether it's a confirmatory dream or compensatory; a confirmatory dream would say "yes" to some real thing happening in your life right now. But since there's no real event this dream is about, it's compensatory: I think your, "you can't treat me like this because I'm 10, I'm not a little kid anymore" talking back to the guy is telling you you can take care of yourself (it's compensating for your awake-life/conscious fears that you can't take care of yourself). You are telling yourself that you can take care of yourself, that you're okay on your own.

Have you been thinking about moving or taking a big step? This dream is probably trying to help you realize that you are more competent than you feel and that you'll be okay if you take the "next" step.

That sounds exactly like something a friend of mine wrote. I think that feeling stems from what this dream is talking about... at just 10, touchy feely shouldn't be an issue that even comes up ... you are deserving to be here my dear, you do belong

both of you guys are making sense to me

anyways, I am kind of making some progress with getting my life moving again and moving up to the "next phase" which is jobs and college. Which, it irks me that it is taking me so long because it feels like my entire 18th year of life has been a waste of time (after I graduated I basically just froze up).
