Well, my sleep issues arm interfering with my life. I am not able to sleep at night and unable to wake during the morning. I have tried taking my sleep med early, camomile tea and warm baths, light dimming, quiet time etc, and still I can't wake up. It is crazy! This has been going on off and on for years. We have been playing musical meds for years! Should I ask pdoc for a sleep study or something? I missed an important doc appt today. I have lost jobs over this in the past. What can I possibly do next?

I wish I had an answer for you, but I don't. I find it very difficult to get to sleep at night and get up as well so, if nothing else, you have my sympathy and support.

They presented him the words: "And this, too, shall pass away." How much it expresses! How chastening in the hour of pride! How consoling in the depths of affliction! ---"Address before the Wisconsin State Agricultural Society". Abraham Lincoln Online. Milwaukee, Wisconsin. September 30, 1859. |

Yes, I would ask your doctor for a sleep study; you may have a delayed sleep phase disorder (among other possibilities):

I will ask pdoc. I know there is a sleep clinic at the VA hospital so I know the option is available. For now pdoc has cut serequel dosage in half which helps. Maybe the rest may be a habit because I love night time. It is peaceful and dark and quiet. Maybe some behavior modification would be in order too.

Maybe you are spending too much time in REM sleep - this wakes you up due to vivid dreams, and in the morning your brain is not rested as it has spent the whole night active, making it hard for you to wake up. I take a sleeping tab, zopiclone, which is really good. I think it can be addictive, but I get a decent night's sleep
