oh God....I'm so tired, but I don't want to get into bed....It's so hard to sleep with all these noise from highway and now my neighbour upstairs' guests....kids are running around at my head....I've already texted him and told him I need to sleep....how people can be so inconsiderate? for god sake, it's Sunday night....It's almost mid night here....He's retired and have hearing problem....so, what? I have to hear his TV all the time? even in the middle of night? because he can't hear and he fall asleep???? besides, he sleeps just few hours and then TV and stereo again....just now, jumping on my head is too much to handle....
I wrote a letter to my land lady telling her i will leave by end of this month....I haven't gotten any place yet....but I want to leave....I need to rest and sleep....I'm getting like a zombie!
What can i do to sleep well? to not hear that constant noise from highway and upstairs? I use ear plugs, but they don't really work....I can feel the vibration....I tried the music last night, but I'm not used to it.....
Please help me....what do I have to do? I'm tired....

I hear your frustration, especially being up at 3 myself this morning. I have used the silicone earplugs for swimmers, which block out more than most earplugs and can hear the rhythm of my breathing and try to focus on taking deep breaths, listening for inhale/exhale to relax. I also turn on a big fan, like a box type fan, to further block out a lot of the sounds and vibrations and things that go bump in the night; at the same time it is somewhat a dulling rhythmic background becomes soothing, almost like white noise. It also cools the room to snuggle under the covers. More conducive for sleep.

I'm not sure if this will help but this is what was recommended to me by the doc, and have found it to be helpful, most of the time. Just too anxious at the moment over life events. Wishing you well and hope you find the elusive pleasant dreams soon. -Fresia

You might want to talk to your landlord:

IF YOU'RE A TENANT
Noisy neighbors are always bad news. But when you share walls with the insensitive neighbor, the problem is especially vexing. The good news for renters is that, in addition to all your other options, you have built-in allies in the battle to keep your apartment livable: your lease or rental agreement and your landlord.

Remember the lease or rental agreement you signed? Chances are your neighbor signed one too. Standard leases and rental agreements contain clauses that entitle you to "quiet enjoyment" of your home. A neighbor who is blasting the stereo in an unreasonable manner is probably violating the lease or rental agreement and can be evicted for doing so.

If you warn your neighbor about the noise in writing and are sure that your lease entitles you to a reasonable amount of quiet, send a copy of the lease along with your letter. In your letter, tell the neighbor that the next complaint will be to the landlord or neighborhood association if the noise continues.

If warning your neighbor doesn't work, go to your landlord. Most tenants don't like to complain to the landlord or manager about unreasonable noise or other nuisances because they are afraid of being branded as troublemakers. But other neighbors are probably bothered by the noise too. Get together with them and complain to the landlord as a group. It's easier and you might get faster results. Most landlords don't want arguments between tenants and won't put up with tenants who cause trouble by ignoring signed lease or rental agreements. Your landlord will probably tell the noisy tenant to pipe down or face eviction.

Thanks guys....I gave my notice to my landlady....and I'm so pissed at her....she just thinks about money and not care about us living in such a noisy place....

Last night, I went to bed just before midnight....and again...the neighbor upstairs were making so much noise.....then the neighbor next door with their guests were sitting outside just in front of their door....they had those folded chairs....Unbelievable....It was right on Midnight....I told them...guys...people are sleeping here...and this is not a house to do whatever you want....I got to wake up and go to work in few hours....they got embarrassed and they apologized...but WTF...they do it again!!!!

Ya...I'm using the Air Conditioner to block out the noise now....Thanks to the old crappy AC with a big noise....but still jumping on my roof it's too much!

I hope I find a place ASAP and live soon....I would make sure to have the new contract for noise level....

thanks again
