Hi, I would like to know how I can wake up. I work night shift yet sleep and adequate eight to ten hours per day yet am still bone jarringly tired all the time. Please dont tell me to exercise as that is part of the problem. Between depression and a heart problem and just a feeling of overwhelming despair when I try to even go out for groceries I dont know what to do.
I am being driven crazy knowing what I have to do and yet being unable to physically make myself do it. How do I invigorate myself when I feel like *crap*

Hi,
I sympathise with you. I worked shifts for a long time and never got used to it. The problem is that we humans are programmed to sleep during the night. Sleeping in the daytime puts us out our normal routine.
Try having a nap during your meal times when you work at night. Working nights also interferes with the digestion system. I stopped eating during night and only had drinks of tea. I found a short nap when I was feeling tired helped.

See if your Pdr. would prescibe you Nuvigil. This is for people with shift work or sleeping problems. Check it out.

If you try and trade night shift for daytime work...
Hope that's not impossibile, I really think it would help you.
It aids our general health to sleep when it's dark.
Sorry if I'm being inadequate. Being new here...
You will find a way

See your PCP to rule out any anemia, etc. Maybe eclipse draperies would help u sleep during the day. Giving it time is bound to help, but I would definitely see a doc to rule out medical causes.
