Have you tried melatonin pills? They are over the counter sleep aids. However melatonin is a natural occuring substance in your body that is related to sleep. Increasing the amount of melatonin in your system might help you relax more and fall alseep with more ease. The plus side: it's over the counter and is relatively cheap. I hope this helps.

I cant sleep either. My brain keeps up a constant picture of the day or what another day at work will be like, just going on and on about the consumers. No reason. I take ambien for sleep each night

I was up until five or six in the morning and I had to be at work at two in the afternoon. I was so tired they kept asking what was wrong, I was in a daze.

breathing exercise:

close your right nostril and inhale through the left one (slowly), close both nostrils, hold breath for a few seconds, relax and imagine a white light at the lower part of your spine, open right nostril, exhale very slowly, inhale through right nostril, close both nostrils, hold breath again, imagine the light moving upwards your spine, exhale through left nostril and so on.....

do this patiently for a few minutes. be patient with it and let the light move slowly up your spine. When it reaches your skull release the light through your ears or the top of your head...

good luck and sweet dreams

yea, that works and so do other relaxation excersices I have done, except they don't work any more and I can't meditate because my brain never shuts up! Slept bad two or three nights then one night well, But I am a night owl, I can't fall asleep sometimes untill the wee hours of the morning, but then can sleep. I wake up every hour to two hours, no matter what. Trouble is society isn't set up for people to sleep the morning away, and staying awake all night. It's not that I am not trying to sleep, I can't. Sometimes for over twenty four hours. Melatonin, ambien, klonopin, several things that should knock me out, sometimes fail alltogether. Antihistamine sleep aids are a waste of time. If I am not going to sleep I am not going to sleep. Even when my work schedule says 6:45 in the morning at least two times every two weeks, Thank god for second shifts. But even then I have had to call off due to beyond twenty four hours no sleep.
I can't make my brain shut up!
