I cannot get over how many nights I have been having terribly confusing and odd dreams. Last night I had a dream about something on very emotive bugs dropping on random people in an audience. They were 'controlled' with strings by other people, I suspected in the dream. Also, in the dream I felt pressured to have intercourse with my fiance. Not by him, but by myself. I have felt this way before, but it was always in my own head.

The other night my dream included an underground society that random people were brought to join from normal life, and the people ruling deprived us of odd things like bedding and makeup. They also 're-educated' us to fight against normal life.

Many of my dreams as of late include bugs, and one in particular included a praying mantis that very much gave me a deep emotion of deep distrust and alarm.

I have always had insomnia. I have tried melatonin, Tylenol PM, among many other remedies prior to seeing a physician. Recently (lastyear) I finally went to a sleep doctor who kept me for an overnight sleep study. He deducted I have a delayed sleep cycle and my insomnia is most likely fueled by my anxiety. I also have ADHD and signs of depression, though I've never followed up on a strong diagnosis. Since then, I have been on Ambien, which helps a ton. I take one a night.

My dreams are progressively becoming odder & odder. I'm just worried that one day my paranoia after waking from a dream will bring me to an anxiety attack. They are just SO frightening and odd. I'd rather not open my mind up to these crazy thoughts when I already have my college courses boggling my mind!

Do you think dreams become odd due to stress? How do you change them? Many thanks to those who read my ramblings! (:

Maybe you should try reading some fiction before bed, something that's nice without too much negative emotion and maybe that will help to direct your dreams to a similar place.

I have anxiety, too, but usually it bugs me at night, and not upon waking. I can understand your fears though because waking up in a panic is very unpleasant when it does happen.
