I dream about aliens landing and taking control of the earth. I think this is fairly straightfoward that I'm probably feeling a loss of control and as if I am being pushed around. I have an alternate dream that sometimes comes before or after the alien dream of tornados descending on the area where I am (and it is often an area I am not too familiar with, so that I have trouble locating shelter).

I think your right.
Also the being in unfimlair ground and tornando could mean that you're in a storm so to speak that is an unfimliar situation. Tornadoes seem to be a pretty "tear your whole world upside down" kind of thing.
(just a maybe. I always get nervous giving my thoughts out on dream interpretions but,.... )

When I dream there are often aliens, tied in with everything somehow; not really bad dreams for me...

Once had a dream that aliens showed up at my door with pumpkins on their heads, out trick-or-treating.

I don't really experience terrible feelings while I am dreaming these dreams; more a sensation of apprehension, although the aliens one is sort of with the knowledge it is probably the end of the world. I have come to view these dreams as a sort of early alert to something in my life that I need to be careful about.

I too dream of aliens and spaceships and trying to run but am imobilized. Problem is, I believe in that crap. Good news is, my therapist doesn't and has pointed out that the earthly happenings in my past are enough to have made me the way I am. (But I still believe)

Yes, but just because your therapist says he or she doesn't believe in aliens doesn't mean they might not exist. I think there is other life out there, but as for my final destination, it's secure. It's the interval in between that could be painful (depending on how hostile the aliens, of course). I think basically my dreams about aliens are actually about earthly problems, the solution to which might be "foreign" to me or outside my imagination (no big surprise there--I can be quite slow on the uptake, although once I get there, I don't forget). I agree with your therapist that the happenings (which makes them sound cheeky and hip, not scary and painful and they were definitely scary and painful) are what made me the way I am. But let's write about about the way we are. I've known two people who overtly, blatantly, verbally expressed their disgust and dismay at the way I am, and their behavior was the sharp teeth behind their growl, just to drive home their point. And lo, these many years later, I'm still the way I am. I've tried to improve what I recognize as my character flaws. I really have tried, consciously and concertedly. And trying is good and it helps. But here is the interesting part. The part of me that these two people hated in me, that they wanted to drive out of me, that they wanted to kill in me, is still here. And it is still a gift.

Your turn.
