I've been on sleeping pills for a while now, but they don't seem to be helping too much. I can usually fall asleep okay, my problem is just that I can't stay asleep. Each night, I generally wake up randomly about 3 or 4 times. The most common time seems to be 2am, for some reason. My normal wake-up time for school is 5:30, so I end up only getting about 4 hours of sleep each night, 5 or 6 if I'm lucky.
My question is, should I see if I can get the dosage increased, or should I just try a different medication? I'm currently on Zolpidem, if that helps. Thanks, Pika

I wake up every hour to two hours on that. That is not the norm but does happen. It is unbranded Ambien, there is an extended release Ambien that is more expensive that helps you stay asleep. I also sometimes just can't sleep whether I take meds for it or not. I have heard that if you take that with other meds to make you sleep, then it doesn't work as well.

I sleep hard with seroquel, but it gives you weird dreams. I'm on Temazepam right now and it helps with the random wakings. I know what you're going through and wish I had the answer as well!!! Definately talk to your doctor about it and see if you need a dosage change or pill change. Also, doing anything extra to help your sleep schedule and health would be optimal. Good luck.

Today my psychiatrist prescribed the extended release version, so we'll see how that one works. I've also been trying to go to sleep earlier.
