When I'm out of college on breaks I often have a heard time getting to sleep at a normal time-i.e. before 12 AM. Therefore, I often find myself waking up around 11 AM or 12 the next day, and increasingly often with a headache that is quite painful, that lasts throughout the day, and is hard to get rid of.
So I was wondering how I can solve the first and second problems I mentioned? Additionally, I was wondering what causes these headaches that feel similar to a hangover when I get them? As I read somewhere they are caused by dehydration during sleep or fluctuating serotonin levels in the brain. |

TheThinker,
I am in college as well and can relate to your problem. Adjusting to "norrmal" time is hard. When you have been staying up until 3 or 4 in the morning for several months it's hard to go to sleep before 12. I am use to getting up at 5 for work and when I got up at 10:30 this morning I had a really bad headache. I took an asprin and my headache went away. I have talked to people who take melatonin to get back to a normal sleep schedule. I take medication to help me sleep which was prescribed by my GP. I would go to the doctor if you feel that you are having serious trouble sleeping. I know saying going to the doctor seems to be the answer for a lot of issues, but he or she can help you get a healthy nights sleep. Best of Luck, Crazyman28 |

I was on normal time at college then my schedule became messed up with the summer. Additionally, I'm using melatonin but it is doing little good. |
