This happened when I slept in the morning. I was dreaming it was Christmas and I remember I got a kitten. Then it went weird. I saw this woman is my dream. This is the bit which kinda freaked me out. I asked the woman to set me free but she sang and I remember it could be a verse from the bible. Then I tried to wake up but I couldn't. I tried pulling my arm but I couldn't. Then I tried opening my eyes and I try but I couldn't. I went back into my sleep. I think I was lucid dreaming because I could see my dream as a film being played in my head. I asked whether we're in the spirit world and she said yes. This freaked me out! But I'm dreaming.

That is scary!!! I've had a VERY similar dream. VERY. It happened about 8 years ago and I woke up hysterical. I was dreaming and they were a bunch of films like you said playing in my head. I would wake up in between clips and at first the woman showed up. Dark long hair and a white face with red lipstick. She was in the mirror above the bed at the foot of the bed. She didn't say anything, didn't smile just stared at me. I couldn't move. I kept telling myself to wake up, to move, to scream but nothing came out and I was paralyzed. The clips kept playing and she was there in between staring at me and I couldn't move the whole time. Then the final time she disappeared from the mirror and it was so scary, (I can't watch Paranormal Activity any more because of this scene is SO similar to my dream 8 years ago) something pulled me by my feet out of bed. I couldn't scream and couldn't fight back because I couldn't move. It pulled me out the room and all the way down the hallway. I was twisting though like it was twirling me while it was pulling me on the ground. Then I woke up and was able to speak and started screaming and crying. It's crazy how similar our dreams are... I wonder about this....

When you are in a very stressed or depressed place, you can experience this thing called 'sleep paralysis':
http://www.webmd.com/sleep-disorders...leep-paralysis Medical professionals believe that the 'spirits' people encounter in this state are just dreams intruding into a semi-wakeful state. Other people are not so sure. David Hufford and Louis Proud have both written well-researched books suggesting that we don't really know if these spirits or real or not, but other cultures believe they are. I believe they're real, but that they only jump you when you're down and try to scare you because fear makes them stronger. So you have find a way not to be scared of them. I know it's hard but after awhile if it keeps happening you get annoyed and the fear goes away. You get to a point with it that you're just like, "Oh get off me." People think spirits can harm them but they only can if you let them. I hope this didn't sound too nuts! ![]() |

Ive woken up where I havent been able to move, I mean literally could not move. It was absolutely terrifying, I thought I was going to die. And I thought someone/thing was in the room with me. I have nightmares all the time, for at least 10 years, and they are so vivid. Dreams of ghosts and spirits, especially when the dream feels real, they are so scary. Even when I wake up Im still scared because Im alone in the dark.

And I agree that it can be hard with certain dreams to be able to tell if it really was just a dream or not. Ive experienced a few things that even now I dont know what to make of them. I dont want to say what one thing was though because it really scared me.
