I'm constantly waking up with nightmares about terrible things that have happened in the past. It's really starting to distress me. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have had the same thing happen to me quite often. It is very unsettling. I started writing down the nightmares when I woke up; for me it has lessened the amount of nightmares that are similar in nature. It is not easy to do because it brings everything back up but in a way it seems to get it out of your mind if that makes sense.

Hi,
Dont blame your dreams. Ask yourself: "why do i need these bad dreams to wake me"? It maybe that you're stressed or depressed? Are you taking any sedatives? Are you overworked?

dont over analyze it. Watch what you eat before you go to bed, pay attention to what you watch on tv. get more exercise, watch a boring nonviolant show to put you to sleep..........
