my pdoc says to STOP taking ambien for a few days, then start again. did you try stopping ALL caffeine: chocolate, etc? I find I am very sensitive, even a little dark chocolate will really affect me falling asleep. (Oh, right - like i;ve ever eaten just a LITTLE dark chocolate! don't want to end up on santa's naughty list!)

hmm, thanks so much for the reply! :-)
i usually try not to take any kind of sedative or antihistime or antianxiety or even so.e anti depressants due to i don't like sleeping. and also from personal experience even taking it one time makes it harder to sleep without it. but i've narrowed this down to starting back in nov 2010. and has just gotten worse since (i've always had narcolepsy(but only recently diagnosed) but anytime insomnia is added to the mix its a double wammy. which this is the extreme its ever been. i believe im psychosis and all right now. even down to canatonic in episodes.
yup, im on a caffiene free diet since over a year due to dehydration issues. no caffieneated food either, which is actually part of my problem lol. stimulants such as caffiene and adhd meds actually cause me to sleep. but im on vyvanse and tried stopping that yesterday to see if maybe its changing on me, but i was then not even able to sleep last night. cymbalta knocked me out pretty hefty the last time i was on it but who knows what it conflicts with as im on many meds. but earilier i tried 2mg of xanax.... that was still a no go. i think it ended up making me more restless than anything.
and haha yah, choclate IS YUMMY!! (sadly i only refrain from choclate due to the toothaches it causes).
sorry for my negativity, im really trying not to be. i think i am about to go off my rockers. but those are really great ideas! thanks!

i will stop all sleeping meds for a few days and see if the helps because i have been taking an assorted for maybe a month, and its always worth a try. lol who knows, maybe i'll end up falling asleep without them while i give it a bit of a wait.
*hugs*

when i get better my real personality will show, which will give u a much better thanks than i could right now.
