A few weeks ago, I had to severe ties with a good friend of mine. We are both kind of "mental," and it was just not a healthy friendship (kind of a long story). Anyway, about two or three weeks ago, I went to an A.A. meeting and afterwards, I was waiting outside for my ride and talking on my cell phone to someone who was concerned about my mom. Just then, my ex-friend walked right past me into the building where the meeting was held, and a few seconds later, walked rite back out--I was still on the phone. She came up to me, grabbed me, got rite in my face and just glared at me; I pulled away and she walked off. It freaked me out.
Thhat nite, I had a dream that I was taking a class at the college and I had to write a paper about being mentally ill. I was at an all nite camp out and trying to figure what to say in the paper. Just then, a weird sub-human creature pinned me down and was snarling and growling in my face and smelled really fowl. I could not see his face and I was too scared to try to get away. There was someone near by asking this creature/person to let me go but was not making much effort aside from that to help me. Just then my landline rang (in real life). I freaked out and flew out of bed. I looked at my caller ID, and saw my ex-friends number so I did not answer it. I could not sleep for the rest of the night-any thoughts? ![]() |

It certainly sounds like your actual daytime encounter wandered into your dreams. I hate that when phones ring when I'm sleeping (real or imaginary :-) I know from experience and reading about dreams that falling asleep while watching TV can make for weird dreams too.
We are supposed to be all the people in our dreams, since they are our dreams and creations from our imagination and I was struck by the person to the side not doing much to get the ugly snarler off you; it made me think it was you during the weird encounter with your friend on the street, wishing you had "done" something rather than just having stood there and taken it.

I think you sent your ex-friend telepathic messages about being a fowl and the person resented it and called you to tell you about it but you didn't answer so that's okay then.
