I've been suffering from nightmares fro about 6-8 months now. and in the last 3 weeks I've become afraid of sleeping. so i stay up now till i pass out. in the nightmares i see a 6 year old me in a pith black room (i'm scared of the dark as well) and then as the room gets lighter i start to see blood on the walls, everywhere, and it's on me as well. that's about it, but i just don't know what to do. does anyone else have something like that???

Something like that, yes. I have always been afraid to sleep, I just today found out it could possibly be related to sleeping though a fire when I was younger. I slept though it and my mother never woke me up and got me out of the house. I had all kinds of rituals when I was a kid that I had to do if not I stayed awake all night. I just remembered this now, 50 years later. In the mean time I've been afraid to sleep, had waking dreams, been sleep deprived, and had terrifying dreams. If you can I would suggest finding a T that could do the eye movement or hypnoses so you can find out if there is a reason. Don't wait so long, but do know the dreams can not hurt you no matter how scary. Good luck.
