Okay, this is like the third dream in a week that I've had about something bad happening to my dog.
I don't really know why, but me and me mom started digging a hole to put my dog in, i guess he was sick or something. So, when the hole is really deep I put my dog in there and we start throwing dirt on top of him. He starts freaking out so I jump down in with him and then the dirt starts turning to mud and he's being pulled under. I struggle trying to stop him from sinking further in, but my mom pulls me out and lets him sink. I'm crying and digging, trying to find him, then I wake up. I'm starting to think that something bad is going to happen to him soon, he's kinda old. These dreams are scaring me ![]() |

Remember, everything is you. What traits that you see in your dog do you also see in yourself? What parts of yourself are you possibly moving away from? I would guess the dog is a personification of you relating to your dog, and acknowledging that some of the traits that you see in both you and the dog you are growing past and are mourning the loss of. Recurring dreams also add the twist that your fear that the dream means something bad will happen also gets reflected in the following dreams, which is shown in the burying of the grave followed by you trying in vain to save the dog (as if you cannot avoid what the dreams are warning you of). If your dog is sick IRL, it may also be your subconscious trying to prepare you for the worst case scenario.
