I have been suffering from this disorder almost all my life. what basically happens is that you wake up while still dreaming, so your body is asleep but your mind is awake. Ive woken up and seen weird things in my room but cant move any part of my body or even speak. It's as if you are hallucinating but you actually dreaming and your dream is basically taking shape in your room. It's extremely scary and very difficult to actually wake yourself up. Has anyone else experienced this?

It's not as uncommon as you'd think. In fact, most people have experienced it on some level. There is one way you can try to break the paralysis, and that's to focus on one specific detail in the room and tunnel vision on it, or close your eyes and envision the whole room spinning. This -should- send you back wholly into dream state.

Thanks, I know it's not uncommon. I have tried many ways to break the paralysis but nothing really seems to work. Just wanted to hear some other experiences as well, that may be different to mine.
