Yesterday I dreamt about a guy (Chris) on a dark brown horse. He came into my backyard and I got on the horse and we ducked underneath the playground. Then we went to a shop where the owners of the shop were mad at both of us for some unknwn reason. We were out on the lawn of the storefront and heard people coming. We quickly fled via horse. Then he forgot his sword and we triumfantly went back and started fighting them. There was this crazy guy (owner) and he swung at me. I opened a door to the store and went inside to buy something with money Chris had given me. This was my sanctuary- I only hoped Chris was okay. When I finally went back out everyone was gone. There was just the horse, and I rode him into town. I looked around and called him, and we quickly hid behind a bench. He kised me, and then I woke up.
It was such a fairytale dream, but what does it mean? |

I'm guessing you're either female or you at least relate more as a feminine personality.
Animals in dreams are typically (read as "about 99% of the time") the anima/animus personified. This would be hte archetypal character that embodies both your primal nature as well as the gender persona of the opposite sex from what you relate to (if you relate as feminine, the animus is masculine and vise versa). This makes sense to me as you have a man riding the horse in your dream. Both seem to be tools to your own safety. But something seems off about it to me. From the beginning, there is a familiarity with this part of yourself in the dream...but typically when an archetype like this shows up it's because something is separating that archetype from your whole self. But the we get into this conflict with the shop owner, and you are separated from the horse and rider. Ah, I see - there is some conflict in your life that has demanded the subduing of your masculine traits. I say masculine and not primal because you still see the horse on the street at the end. But where is the rider, the personification of your masculine self? All you have to do is call for him and there he is. And in the end there is a kiss, a symbol of the uniting of the masculine self with the rest of your psyche. A dream with a happy ending is always a good dream, I think ![]()
