There are things I have dreamed about in the past that have been mutlipied for the worse in the past. Claustrophobia and fear of darkness have been dealt with in my sleep and ended up causing panic attacks in my sleep or half sleep. It has affected the level which I deal with these things on a daily basis. Read my thread about sleepwalking for more clarity. Why hus this fear of closed in spaces and darkness stuck with me for so long and why is it still unshakeable.

I'm sorry I missed that thread!
![]() The not being able to stop eating something is a common thing with eating while sleepwalking in general. MandaMay does it sometimes. It relates to a lack of separation between the waking and sleeping mind. Regarding your phobias, it's not unheard of to have a phobia develop out of dreams, but typically this means that there was something in the waking world that caused traumatic anxiety and triggered a panic response. That it came up in dreams first tells me you were resound enough to at least attempt to work through the anxiety before the panic response actually started (whereas the standard formation of a phobia doesn't give enough reaction time to allow your dreams to attempt at resolving the issue). Claustrophobia relates to being trapped in your dreams. This could literally relate to the feeling that triggered the response. Something caused you to feel trapped with no option of escape. Darkness can relate to feeling lost, or feeling overwhelmed by your shadow traits. Either way, the panic reaction means there was, again, no option for escape. The reason you haven't been able to shake the fear is because you're not far enough back, I think. There has to be something in the waking world that sparked the subconscious reaction in your dreams. Dreams do not form themselves, they only build off our reactions and responses within to the waking life.
