I've never posted before so here it goes...

So I've been having weird dreams - like I often have vivid dreams, but recently I've had more bothersome dreams...Without getting into detail right now, basically I had this dream that I hooked up with this chick who abused me throughout my childhood (I'm bi and she was a big part of why I hid it for so long). I haven't interacted with her in ages, only seen her in passing, so why now? And to be honest, making out with this chick who did that to me is just kinda disguesting and the image has been really disturbing for me. Why would I have a dream like this???

I am no dream expert, but I wonder if something recently maybe triggered your subconscious to make you dream about her? Have you seen her, or maybe started dating someone new? Just thoughts I had when I read your posting.

I have also heard that what we dream about has nothing to do with anything that is actually happening to us during our waking hours. Maybe your going through a rough time, and your brain remembers this earlier rough time in your life and your having weird dreams now.

I know I have had some wacky dreams before too, about people from my past, and I was glad when my mind decided to move onto dreaming about new stuff!

Characters in our dreams are often reflections of ourselves. If there is someone in your dream you know/knew, you're probably subconsciously seeing a trait shared between the two of you. Sexual connections in dreams (ie - hooking up), is never about actual sex, save for nocturnal emissions. Typically it's your subconscious trying to relate to this perception of part of your psyche.
